After both of Joan’s parents passed away, she faced significant upheaval when a family friend asked her to leave following their divorce. Now living with her aunt, Joan has shown remarkable resilience in the face of these challenges, and her strength and determination shine through her. Her academic performance is outstanding, and her discipline is commendable. In fact, school leadership has praised her behavior, recognizing her as one of the best students in the entire school!

Daniel is a humble, intelligent boy who loves playing soccer. He is hardworking at home and shows deep respect for those around him. His favorite meal is fish and rice. Daniel’s mother, a single parent, suffered a serious injury that has made it impossible for her to work. But thanks to the support of BTCM, we are walking alongside this family, ensuring they stay together and have the stability they need to thrive.

When Gertrude’s parents passed away, she and her sister were left entirely on their own. Though relatives initially tried to care for them, they eventually left, and the girls were left with no one. BTCM stepped in and was able to reconnect Gertrude with an aunt, helping to provide the support needed for them to stay together long-term in a stable, loving, and God-centered home.

Frank has a big, tender heart and a strong work ethic when it comes to school. He loves stepping into leadership roles and even served on the Student Council as the Flag Captain. His guardian faces the daily challenges of poverty, but through BTCM’s support, she’s not alone in providing for his care. With encouragement and opportunity, Frank is growing into a confident young leader with a bright future ahead!

Pardon Peter is a spirited and affectionate little boy with a big appetite for life! Bursting with energy, he loves zooming around on the riding toys and playing soccer with his friends. Unfortunately, his mother is facing mental health challenges that make it difficult for her to care for him safely. That’s why BTCM is stepping in to support Pardon and his family, ensuring they remain connected in a safe manner and receive the help they need to bond and grow.

In the face of adversity, Godfrey and his six siblings lost their mother several years ago. Despite this, Godfrey has shown remarkable qualities—hardworking, strong, and courageous. He is great at gardening and his dedication to academics is remarkable. Sponsorship means he will grow to be a Godly leader, becoming a valuable asset to his community.

Clair is a kind and confident young woman with a natural gift for leadership! She was honored to be elected to her school’s Student Council, where she helps create and uphold school rules while serving her peers. At home, Clair’s mother battles a serious chronic illness, making daily life challenging. BTCM has come alongside their family, providing support, encouragement, and resources to strengthen their bond and ensure they continue to grow together. It’s been incredible to see the transformation taking place in their lives!

Joseline has a nurturing spirit and a heart for mentorship, always finding joy in spending time with younger children. Her leadership and servant-hearted nature shine brightly every day. In Primary School, she was honored to be elected as the Chapel Leader for younger students as part of the Student Council—a role she embraced with dedication and care. Joseline and her siblings are lovingly raised by their uncle and aunt, who, despite their struggles with poverty, are committed to providing for them. Through BTCM’s Family Strengthening Program, we are walking alongside their family, ensuring they have the support they need to thrive.

Rachael’s parents passed away, and now she lives with her elderly grandparents, who, though loving, are too frail to care for her alone. Despite these challenges, Rachael excels academically and consistently demonstrates a bright, hardworking spirit. With a heart full of kindness and a positive attitude, she not only thrives in school but also takes on a leadership role in Sunday School, guiding younger children with warmth and patience as she teaches them scriptures and songs. Her faith is growing stronger, and she continues to mature in both character and belief, showing resilience beyond her years.

Dorcus is a joyful girl with a bright smile who loves singing and cherishes her friends deeply. She takes pride in keeping herself neat and is known for her kind and genuine heart. Her favorite meal is rice and meat. Her mother, a single parent, suffered a serious injury that has left her unable to work. But through the support of BTCM, we are walking alongside this family, ensuring they stay together and have the stability they need to flourish.

Hedwig, our beloved founding leader, has retired from her role as Executive Director but continues to serve faithfully on the Ugandan Board and as a Jajja (grandmother) to the children and staff. With a huge heart for orphans—many of whom she has raised in her own home—Hedwig remains passionate about safeguarding BTCM’s mission, ensuring we stay focused on helping children grow in their faith and pursue Jesus every day. Her leadership, care, and spiritual wisdom continue to shape the ministry in powerful ways.

In this new season, Hedwig spends her days pouring into others through vision-planning, problem-solving, and discipleship. She counsels staff, guardians, and children with wisdom gained from years of experience, while also advocating for vulnerable children in court, with guardians, and alongside government officials. As a respected Jajja and spiritual mother, she continues to live as a powerful example of Godly leadership for the next generation. In addition to her ongoing role on the Ugandan Board, Hedwig now coaches leaders from other ministries, expanding BTCM’s impact by helping others care for vulnerable children with excellence and faithfulness.

Allan is deeply passionate about leading and empowering our Ugandan staff, helping them grow both professionally and spiritually. Allan plays a key role in developing strategic plans that strengthen our programs and ensure long-term impact. At the heart of his leadership is a desire to see every child in our care encounter the love of Jesus. He is committed to helping the ministry—and everyone in it—pursue Jesus more each day.

Allan’s days are full and deeply intentional. He starts by connecting with our Ugandan staff—encouraging them, praying with them, and helping guide their work. Much of his time is spent planning and problem-solving alongside our team, tackling both big-picture strategy and day-to-day challenges. His talents are many, though, and it’s not unusual to find him overseeing a construction project he helped design—while carrying a baby on his hip—or discipling boys during a game of soccer. Whether he’s meeting with local leaders, mentoring staff, or pointing children to Jesus, Allan approaches every task with joy, wisdom, and a servant’s heart.

Christine has a huge heart for Jesus and children. Growing up in the BTCM program Christine learned firsthand just how important it was to have a social worker involved in her life. She loves to be able to give back by serving the BTCM children and their families through connection, teaching biblical parenting, discipleship, and reunification. She is our head social worker and leads our team with humility and compassion.

Christine leads with both compassion and strength as she champions each child’s holistic growth. She spends her days mentoring and discipling the children, while also overseeing the social work team and ensuring every child’s emotional, spiritual, and physical needs are met—including through family strengthening. Christine also represents BTCM and the children in meeting government requirements, advocating for their protection and well-being. With wisdom and a heart rooted in Jesus, she works daily to fill any gaps in care and lead the way in loving each child well.

Francis is very passionate about the Bible and loves the BTCM children. He is incredible with the complicated accounting it takes to manage the ministry, and he is passionate about mentoring our children and being sure they are always learning to follow Jesus.

A Day in His Life: Primarily, Francis can be found behind his computer screen working diligently on the complicated budget of caring for 300+ kids, 50 staff, a Primary school, and the Children’s Homes. He always goes above and beyond, and he is truly a gifted accountant!

Ritah grew up as an orphan and was blessed to be supported and put through school by her uncle. Because of her experiences, she is excited to help other orphaned and vulnerable children. She is fantastic with numbers and gifted in administration.

A Day in Her Life: Ritah works hard everyday to track our expenses, monitor our school budget and fees, and account for all petty cash. She is fantastic with numbers and gifted in administration.

Rogers is so loving, caring, and he loves laughing. He is so friendly to the staff and the children. He is very excited to serve with BTCM and teach them how to follow Jesus. He started as a Discipleship Director and now has moved into the role of School Director leading our Primary School and helping develop our Secondary School!

William is a valued member of BTCM, pouring his heart into the ministry with unwavering passion and dedication. His deep love for Jesus inspires everything he does, and he has a special gift for teaching others to follow Him. With a tender heart for children, William connects with them in meaningful ways, serving as both a mentor and a role model. He is a gifted teacher who finds great joy in guiding our families and children as they grow in their faith.

A Day in His Life: A day in William’s life is a blend of teaching, mentoring, and ministry. Throughout the day, William spends time with children and families, sharing the love of Jesus through Bible lessons, heartfelt conversations, and personal encouragement. Whether he’s teaching a chapel, leading a devotion, or walking alongside a child or family in need, William pours his heart into every moment. His tender spirit and passion for faith leave a lasting impact as he helps others grow closer to Jesus and discover their God-given potential.

Lindah brings joy wherever she goes—her bright laugh and big heart are a gift to both our children and our team. As our Human Resources lead, she is passionate about caring for our staff, encouraging them, and creating a healthy, Christ-centered work environment where they can thrive. She also has a deep love for the children, believing wholeheartedly in the power of family.

Her day is filled with caring for the heart of our team. She spends her time checking in with staff, listening to their needs, encouraging them spiritually, and helping resolve challenges that arise in their roles. Whether she’s organizing staff trainings, supporting team unity, or praying with a colleague, Lindah works to create a healthy, Christ-centered environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to serve well.

Rose is full of energy, a hard worker, and a strong prayer warrior.  She loves encouraging our house moms in their spiritual life.  She would love prayers to remain strong and courageous and manage the house moms with love and grace to improve the children’s welfare.

A Day in Her Life: As the Child Care Officer, Rose’s job is to be sure the best interest of the children is priority and that all children are receiving excellent holistic care.  She ensures there is a Godly family atmosphere in our transitional homes and manages our team of house moms, and leads their discipleship.

Godfrey grew up in the BTCM program and had a passion to be a part of the team to give back to the ministry. He is a Godly young man and loves to teach about Jesus as he shows our children living on campus the secrets of gardening. Gardening is a life-saving skill in Uganda, and learning these skills benefit the children for years to come.

A Day in Her Life: As BTCM’s nurse, Monica’s day is full. She tends to our children that need daily medication, treats children that become sick or injured throughout the day, and takes children to the hospital in emergencies. Medically caring for 300+ children is a life-saving job!

Annet grew up in the BTCM program and has always had a huge heart to serve our children. She and her husband are both teachers at our primary school and are showing our children a loving and Godly example of family.

Derrick grew up caring for himself and working hard day and night to be able to attend school. He is servant-hearted and a hard worker!

A Day in His Life: As you can imagine, shopping for 300+ children can be rather time consuming, but Derrick is up for the challenge. He is a servant-hearted young man who orders, shops, and manages everything needed to care for our kids.

Matiya is a humble hard working man. He will be seen all over our big campus throughout the day tending to whatever need fixing, cleaning, organizing, gardening, or attention in any manner. He also enjoys playing soccer with the kids in his free time.

Richard is an excellent social worker and is known for being humble, patient, and hardworking. He is always willing to help when needed and goes above and beyond to serve our children. He is excited about serving the BTCM children and enjoys singing in the church choir.
