Meet Junior—a resilient boy who’s had to be resourceful far too young. Orphaned early and later left without stable care when his grandparents couldn’t manage, he survived by doing small day jobs with a friend and sleeping in a church for safety. Junior has never attended school, but that can change now. Referred to BTCM by a caring neighbor, he is safe and preparing to start classes, with regular meals and counseling in place. Your sponsorship provides holistic care so he can focus on learning and building a hopeful future.

Mary is a sweet and tender little girl. Her father, who was the family’s sole provider, tragically died in a motorcycle accident. His loss left the family in a very difficult situation, with no one to help them meet even their most basic needs.
We are honored to have Mary in the BTCM family, where she will be loved, supported, and given hope for a brighter future.

Agnes is a gentle, quiet little girl who has already endured so much loss in her young life. After her father passed away, her mother went missing in 2021 and is believed by many to have died, though this has never been confirmed. When their mother disappeared, Agnes and her sister Peace were left in the care of their aging grandmother, who tries her best but is too frail to meet all of their needs alone. We are thankful that Agnes is now part of the BTCM family, where she will receive the love, care, and opportunities every child deserves. We are also committed to walking alongside her grandmother, offering support and hope as she continues to care for her granddaughters.

Meet Julius—a bright boy with a quiet grit. In the wake of losing his mother and with his father too sick to provide, Julius and his siblings often knocked on neighbors’ doors just to find food. A community member brought them to BTCM, where Julius can finally focus on being a kid again. Your sponsorship helps provide safe housing, consistent nutrition, schooling, and caring guidance. With this foundation, Julius can grow, heal, and flourish.

Alice is a kind, determined Primary Three student. After the loss of both parents, she and her siblings were left without land or stable support. As the youngest of four, Alice now lives with her older brother’s household, where meeting daily needs is a challenge and consistent nutrition has been hard to secure. BTCM has come alongside her brother, who is struggling with poverty, to ensure Alice receives holistic care, learns about Jesus, and stays in school. Lillian is a fun-loving girl who brings joy wherever she goes. Sadly, her father abandoned his responsibilities and turned to alcoholism, leaving her mother alone to care for the family. Despite her love for her children, Lillian’s mother lives in deep poverty and is too vulnerable to meet all their needs on her own.
We are grateful to have Lillian as part of the BTCM family, where she will be loved, supported, and given new opportunities to grow and thrive. We are also committed to walking alongside her mother to offer hope and help during these challenging times.

Patrick is a bright and determined young man. After his father was left unable to care for the family due to life-changing injuries from a road accident, and his mother passed away after a long battle with cancer, Patrick’s life changed in many ways.
Now under the care of a kind foster guardian, Patrick has a safe place to belong. We are honored to stand with Patrick—supporting him with love, opportunities, and hope for a brighter future—while also encouraging his foster family so they can keep providing the care he needs to grow and thrive.

Fred is a strong and athletic young man with a diligent work ethic and a deep love for Jesus. He is grounded in his faith and committed to growing in both character and ability. His father, caught in the cycle of poverty due to a lack of education, jobs, and resources in their area, has faced significant struggles. BTCM has stepped in to walk alongside them, providing the support and opportunities needed to break the cycle and create a brighter future for Fred and his father.

In the face of adversity, Godfrey and his six siblings lost their mother several years ago. Despite this, Godfrey has shown remarkable qualities—hardworking, strong, and courageous. He is great at gardening and his dedication to academics is remarkable. Sponsorship means he will grow to be a Godly leader, becoming a valuable asset to his community.

After both of Joan’s parents passed away, she faced significant upheaval when a family friend asked her to leave following their divorce. Now living with her aunt, Joan has shown remarkable resilience in the face of these challenges, and her strength and determination shine through her. Her academic performance is outstanding, and her discipline is commendable. In fact, school leadership has praised her behavior, recognizing her as one of the best students in the entire school!

Sarah is a bright and driven young woman with a passion for sports. She’s not only an athlete but also a leader, serving as the Student Council Leader for Sports and Games at her school. She lives with her single mother, who works hard to provide for her despite the challenges of poverty. Through our Family Strengthening Program, Sarah’s mother receives support to help care for her and ensure she can continue thriving. Sarah loves Jesus and finds joy in reading her Bible, growing in faith every day!

Hedwig, our beloved founding leader, has retired from her role as Executive Director but continues to serve faithfully on the Ugandan Board and as a Jajja (grandmother) to the children and staff. With a huge heart for orphans—many of whom she has raised in her own home—Hedwig remains passionate about safeguarding BTCM’s mission, ensuring we stay focused on helping children grow in their faith and pursue Jesus every day. Her leadership, care, and spiritual wisdom continue to shape the ministry in powerful ways.

In this new season, Hedwig spends her days pouring into others through vision-planning, problem-solving, and discipleship. She counsels staff, guardians, and children with wisdom gained from years of experience, while also advocating for vulnerable children in court, with guardians, and alongside government officials. As a respected Jajja and spiritual mother, she continues to live as a powerful example of Godly leadership for the next generation. In addition to her ongoing role on the Ugandan Board, Hedwig now coaches leaders from other ministries, expanding BTCM’s impact by helping others care for vulnerable children with excellence and faithfulness.

Allan is deeply passionate about leading and empowering our Ugandan staff, helping them grow both professionally and spiritually. Allan plays a key role in developing strategic plans that strengthen our programs and ensure long-term impact. At the heart of his leadership is a desire to see every child in our care encounter the love of Jesus. He is committed to helping the ministry—and everyone in it—pursue Jesus more each day.

Allan’s days are full and deeply intentional. He starts by connecting with our Ugandan staff—encouraging them, praying with them, and helping guide their work. Much of his time is spent planning and problem-solving alongside our team, tackling both big-picture strategy and day-to-day challenges. His talents are many, though, and it’s not unusual to find him overseeing a construction project he helped design—while carrying a baby on his hip—or discipling boys during a game of soccer. Whether he’s meeting with local leaders, mentoring staff, or pointing children to Jesus, Allan approaches every task with joy, wisdom, and a servant’s heart.

Christine has a huge heart for Jesus and children. Growing up in the BTCM program Christine learned firsthand just how important it was to have a social worker involved in her life. She loves to be able to give back by serving the BTCM children and their families through connection, teaching biblical parenting, discipleship, and reunification. She is our head social worker and leads our team with humility and compassion.

Christine leads with both compassion and strength as she champions each child’s holistic growth. She spends her days mentoring and discipling the children, while also overseeing the social work team and ensuring every child’s emotional, spiritual, and physical needs are met—including through family strengthening. Christine also represents BTCM and the children in meeting government requirements, advocating for their protection and well-being. With wisdom and a heart rooted in Jesus, she works daily to fill any gaps in care and lead the way in loving each child well.

Ritah grew up as an orphan and was blessed to be supported and put through school by her uncle. Because of her experiences, she is excited to help other orphaned and vulnerable children. She is fantastic with numbers and gifted in administration.

Rogers is so loving, caring, and he loves laughing. He is so friendly to the staff and the children. He is very excited to serve with BTCM and teach them how to follow Jesus. He started as a Discipleship Director and now has moved into the role of School Director leading our Primary School and helping develop our Secondary School!

Vincent is deeply passionate about economic development and equipping BTCM families to thrive. He is a hardworking and dedicated team member who finds great joy in being out in the field, walking alongside families as they navigate challenges and discover practical solutions. Vincent is committed to teaching families strategies to improve their income and provide better care for their children. His love for Jesus is at the core of all he does, and he is eager to share His love and message of hope with the families he serves.

A Day in His Life: Vincent spends much of his time in the villages, meeting with families to teach them about income-generating projects, business improvements, and practical ways to solve challenges. Vincent walks alongside them, providing encouragement and equipping them with the tools they need to improve their livelihoods and care for their children. Whether he’s leading a workshop, offering one-on-one support, or sharing about Jesus, Vincent’s passion for empowering families and his deep love for Christ shine through in everything he does.

John is a servant hearted Christian who is passionate about keeping our kids safe. He has a wife and is working hard to care for his 9 children and grateful for the job!

Godfrey grew up in the BTCM program and had a passion to be a part of the team to give back to the ministry. He is a Godly young man and loves to teach about Jesus as he shows our children living on campus the secrets of gardening. Gardening is a life-saving skill in Uganda, and learning these skills benefit the children for years to come.

A Day in His Life: Godfrey spends his days tending to all things agriculture on our campus. He plans, prepares, and plants fruits and vegetables for our kids to enjoy. He also spends time teaching these valuable skills to our house moms and kids.

Monica grew up in the BTCM program and has a big heart. She valued being sponsored and the opportunity to get an education. Her heart’s desire is to help others because of the help she received from her sponsors! She loves reading her Bible and leading worship in church on Sundays.

A Day in Her Life: As BTCM’s nurse, Monica’s day is full. She tends to our children that need daily medication, treats children that become sick or injured throughout the day, and takes children to the hospital in emergencies. Medically caring for 300+ children is a life-saving job!

Matiya is a humble hard working man. He will be seen all over our big campus throughout the day tending to whatever need fixing, cleaning, organizing, gardening, or attention in any manner. He also enjoys playing soccer with the kids in his free time.

Derrick grew up caring for himself and working hard day and night to be able to attend school. He is servant-hearted and a hard worker!

A Day in His Life: As you can imagine, shopping for 300+ children can be rather time consuming, but Derrick is up for the challenge. He is a servant-hearted young man who orders, shops, and manages everything needed to care for our kids.

Wilson grew up in the BTCM program and has a heart to give back to other vulnerable children. He shows great leadership and has a servant heart to do the tasks no one else enjoys. He loves playing with the children and being sure they feel loved.

A Day in His Life: Our social workers champion our children by spending each day getting to know them through mentoring and discipleship. Through this process they ensure each child’s holistic needs–including family strengthening–are being met and come up with solutions for any gaps in care.

Richard is an excellent social worker and is known for being humble, patient, and hardworking. He is always willing to help when needed and goes above and beyond to serve our children. He is excited about serving the BTCM children and enjoys singing in the church choir.

Rose is full of energy, a hard worker, and a strong prayer warrior.  She loves encouraging our house moms in their spiritual life.  She would love prayers to remain strong and courageous and manage the house moms with love and grace to improve the children’s welfare.

A Day in Her Life: As the Child Care Officer, Rose’s job is to be sure the best interest of the children is priority and that all children are receiving excellent holistic care.  She ensures there is a Godly family atmosphere in our transitional homes and manages our team of house moms, and leads their discipleship.

Margaret “Akiiki” is one of our very first house moms and has been raising children in our family homes for over 10 years. She has a huge heart for children and is fantastic with our tiny babies and our teenage boys. Akiiki is a true blessing to BTCM!
